DCFC is the premiere fencing club serving DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. We train and encourage fencers of all ages and abilities. We offer fencing classes for kids and adults, from age 7 to 70+. Our beginner fencing classes introduce students to the fundamentals, including technique, tactics, and competition. We provide fencing uniforms and equipment, just come dressed to move. DCFC offers rolling, monthly enrollment for beginner, intermediate, and invitational fencing classes. Classes run from September through June. For fencers who wish to hone their skills, we teach private fencing lessons in epee and sabre. Fencing is an Olympic sport with roots in European swordfighting of centuries past. Today, fencing is a competitive sport of strategy, finesse, and endurance. Fencing is an “open skills” sport that teaches young people important life skills such as decisionmaking, confidence, self-discipline, focus, and respect. And of course, fencing is fun! Sign up for a beginner fencing class today ABOUT DC FENCERS CLUB For 29 years, Head Coach Janusz Smolenski has consistently produced national and international champions. Among them is Amanda Sirico, 2018 Women’s Team Epee World Champion. His team of coaches have a combined 100+ years of fencing experience and have produced nationally ranked competitive fencers. DC Fencers Club is a dedicated fencing facility in the Forest Glen neighborhood of Silver Spring, minutes from the Georgia Avenue exit off the Beltway. This July and August, DCFC offers eight weeklong fencing camps to introduce young people to Olympic sport fencing. Each camp takes place Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Camps are open to youth ages 7-16. Beginner through advanced fencers are welcome. We provide club gear and also offer before- and after-care.
